About Us

About the Berkshire Summer Camp Association

The Western Massachusetts Camp Association represents a community of premier children’s summer camps in the Berkshire Mountains. Berkshire camps are among the most successful and well-established camps in the country, run by some of the nation’s most respected and accomplished camp directors.

Families who send their children to summer camps in the Berkshires enjoy the best of everything. Berkshire camps offer the majestic beauty and pristine lakes of remote locations like northern New England, within easy driving distance from the Boston and New York metro areas. The Berkshires offer an ideal summer vacation spot with fine attractions, including museums (Mass Moca, Normal Rockwell), music and dance festivals (Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, the Williamstown Theater) a variety of gracious inns (Wheatleigh, Cornell, Red Lion), top resorts and spas (Canyon Ranch) and a multitude of top restaurants. No wonder that thousands of families send their children to Berkshire camps each summer.

About the Berkshire Summer Camp Association

Berkshire camps are dedicated to making a positive and meaningful contribution to the lives of children by fostering traditions, community and life-long friendships. We commit to hiring the best counselors, training them well and guiding them as they help us carry out our camp missions throughout the summer. The combination of great staff, exceptional programs and facilities, coupled with the talented and experienced directors provides an incredible base for your child’s success – in camp and in life.

All of our Berkshire camps are committed to providing a physically and emotionally safe environment for your child. All of our camps are accredited through the American Camp Association, and therefore meet the camp industry's highest standards for safety, staffing, health, and programming.

Our camps vary in size, session duration and activity offerings. They run the gamut from co-ed and single sex camps; religious and secular camps and general versus activity specific camps. Camp session from five days to seven weeks. Every type of child can find a summer home in a Berkshire camp. Artists, animal lovers, athletes, equestrians, acrobats and outdoor adventurers all thrive at our camps.
